Admissions Committee, Spring 2004 Update

| Return to Meeting Notes List |

The Alumnae Admissions Coordinators (AACs) of San Francisco and Marin have completed another busy recruiting season. We’ve met with a number of talented and qualified young women who just received their acceptance letters from the College. We have 16 admitted students (out of a total of 28 who applied) in San Francisco and 7 (out of 11 applicants) in Marin. Two students from San Francisco and one student from Marin were accepted for Early Decision enrollment, so we already have three students from the area who are definitely going to be on campus next year!

We're also working on other programs for prospective and current students. We'll be giving book awards to high school juniors at eight local schools. This has proven to be a powerful recruiting tool for the College year after year. In order to keep students connected to the SF/Marin Smith Club once they're in Northampton, we're continuing our final exam care package program again this semester.

As always, please contact the AACs if you're interested in volunteering with the Admissions Committee. There are many ways to participate – interview prospective students, give a presentation about Smith at a local high school or at an organization you are a part of, represent Smith at a college fair, or talk to your daughters, nieces, and neighbors about Smith. Let us hear from you how we can make each recruiting season more successful.
