May 24, 2008: Calling All Bay Area Non-Profit Professionals!

The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) Advisory Board in the Bay Area is looking for new members. We're a dynamic, multi-faceted group of 12 looking for 5 people who are committed to supporting nonprofit professionals on their career paths. We are a working board, helping to steer the course of YNPN Bay Area's committees, programs and activities. The average age of our Advisory Board members is around the late 20s to early 30s, with an average of 6+ years of experience in the sector.

YNPN is a volunteer-run organization. We are seeking energetic, emerging leaders for a two-year board service. The most successful AB members are willing and able to commit a significant amount of time to attend monthly board meetings (on Mondays), manage committees of volunteers and attend YNPN events.

We are seeking Advisory Board candidates who have interests and/or abilities in serving in the following Advisory Board positions (see below for full descriptions):

* Development and Partnerships Chair: fundraising, sponsorships and outreach
* Community Chair: community engagement, survey administration
* Book Club Chair: program planning and group facilitation
* Communications Chair: marketing, PR, electronic newsletter production
* Socials Chair: event coordination and networking

As a diverse board, we encourage men, people of color, and people who identify as LGBTQ to apply.

To apply: please fill out our online application at http://ynpn.org/volunteer/boardApp.asp

Questions? Contact Rebecca Hoffman '03, Rebecca.Hoffman at gmail.com or visit the YNPN website http://ynpn.org/sfba/index.asp for more information.
