Annual Young Alumna Barbeque - August 19, 2007

The August 19th barbeque was a great way to connect with both young alums and current students. We enjoyed getting to know 4 current students and 2 new alums at the beautiful Crissy Field. Views of the Golden Gate Bridge and plenty of good food and conversation made the picnic especially enjoyable. See the group photo to the left. |
Summer 2007 Theatre Event - Sunday, July 1, 2007
A number of Smith alumnae enjoyed an outing to see ACT's production of Moliere's "The Imaginary Invalid" on July 1st. Attendees included Barbara Ober, Sharonjean Moser Leeds '67, Gretchen Vierstra '96, Jinny Cox Atkinson '49, Tammy Drummond '84, Linda Woo '91, Taress Reyering '03, Elizabeth Sue Rawnsley Ferguson '76, Francie Allen '67, Becca Rufer, Christina Althoff Stephen ;89, and eleven spouses, family members, and friends.
Many of use met before the play in the theater's Sky Bar to chat and get to know each other. Most of the guests came from San Francisco and the Peninsula. The play itself was fast-paced and fun, while perhaps too fast and fun for some in the audience. As for myself, I haven't read or seen this play in years and so could not remember what they left out. After the play Tammy Drummond and I and our guests enjoyed dinner at Kuleto's.
As the response was so positive for this event, I am thinking about organizing another event in the fall or winter. If you have any suggestions for particular plays or showtimes, you can email me at christinastephen@mac.com.
"Masterpieces of French Jewelry" at the Legion of Honor - Saturday, May 5, 2007
Local Smith Alumnae enjoyed a docent-led, private tour of the new exhibit at the Legion of Honor. It was a marvelous event.

Smithies from all around the Bay Area gathered for the 6th Annual San Francisco Smith College Club TEA! We had a number of fellow alumnae and prospective students!
